Sometimes you feel completely hopeless. The sky is gray and you can't imagine how you are going to get through another day.
You put on your best dress and grab your favorite handbag. You leave the house / loft / apartment / co-op feeling like a million bucks, confident, beautiful, full of energy. And you return home deflated, sad, defeated.
You search high and low for that which will make you happy, to no avail.
You become envious of what everyone else has, and the ease with which they manage to find it.
And then sometimes, without even trying, when you least expect it, the clouds just seem to part. The sky clears up. The rains stops. You are able to put away the cookie dough. And it just happens. When you are least prepared. Wearing your Nick and Noras PJs. Or your Old Navy sweats. Hair in a side pony tail. Pretending to revive the look.
You feel as though you are destined to spend the rest of your life alone and unhappy.
All of a sudden, you have multiple suitors competing for your attention. What once seemed like a drought, is now a rainforest. A rainforest of possibility.
Everywhere you turn, there is opportunity. Desire. Hope. Suddenly everything that seemed so right before, now seems so clearly wrong.
This is no Urban Legend. Dispel your disbelief for a moment.
There I was. In my sloppiest outfit. A little "damp" from the humidity. Hair in a side pony tail. When my luck started to take a turn. A turn for the better. Without warning. Without preparation. Without even time for an emergency call to Joy for advice.
I found these:
[TARGET 24.99]...
and this...
[Here is a close up so you can see how perfectly purple it is]
You realize that the wait was completely worth it. [This is a Franco Sarto Bag. It cost me $19.99 at DSW].
Amidst all of the choices, there is excitement, but also confusion. And then, you find it. You find The One. Everything becomes clear as night [or is it day? well, no matter. Things get clear, that's the point].
It might be early. People might say its too fast, too soon. You aren't thinking it through. But you KNOW, in your heart, its the right thing.
Everyone, I'd like you to meet My New Favorite Shoes. New Favorite Shoes, I'd like you to meet Everyone.
I think you'll get along swimmingly.
When it's right, you just know.
In the end, I loved many. But I only gave my foot to only one. (Okay, one or two, but whatever, cut me some slack, I'm trying to be L-I-T-E-R-A-R-Y).
